There are a limited number of places for IELTS test sessions. To make sure you get a place, we recommend that you register two months before your chosen test date. Of course, places may be available after this date. You can use the British Council Online Registration System to find up-to-date information about test dates and availability.
Please note: Your Listening, Reading and Writing test will be completed on the same day. Your Speaking test may be offered on the same day, or up to a week before or after your main test day. You will receive notification in advance if your Speaking test is on a different day to your main test day
Please submit the following documents to British Council Offices within five working days of submitting your online application:
- A signed copy of your confirmation form
- Proof of payment
- A valid passport (we will take a photocopy). The passport also has to be valid on the test day. If you are posting documents from outside Kampala, they will accept a scanned copy of your passport.
- National ID for Ugandan nationals only
You will receive the final confirmation email only when they have received all of your documentation within the five-day deadline. Otherwise they will cancel your registration and you will have to start the procedure again.
SAT REGISTRATION BY MAIL
When registering for the SAT or SAT Subject Tests you’ll be asked for:
Your full legal name as it appears on your photo ID, date of birth, sex, mailing address, and current grade level.
Your high school code. Find it at collegeboard.org/sat-codes.
An acceptable photo of yourself that looks like the photo on your ID and matches the way you look on test day.
To guard against impersonation, when you register for the SAT, whether online or by mail, you must provide a recent, acceptable photo of yourself. Your photo will be added to your registration, will appear on your admission ticket, and will be required for admittance to the test center. Only students in the eighth grade and below at the time of testing are not required to provide photos during registration.
The test type, test date, and test center you’re choosing.
Acceptance of our terms and conditions.
Payment or a fee waiver.
International Test Takers
If you’re registering to test outside of the U.S. or U.S. territories, you must mail your registration in time for it to arrive by the regular registration deadline. If received after the deadline, your registration will be processed for the next available test date whenever possible. Register by the early registration deadline if you’re requesting that a test center be opened closer to your home or if you’re registering through an international SAT representative. For more details about taking the SAT outside of the U.S., visit sat.org/international.
Registration of TOEFL is online at https://toefl-registration.ets.org/TOEFLWeb/extISERLogonPrompt.do. Be sure the name you use when you register exactly matches the identification you will bring on test day.
Identification (ID) Requirements for the TOEFLTest
When you register for a TOEFL test, you are required to provide identification (ID) information. In addition, you must enter your name exactly as it appears on the primary ID document(s) you plan to bring to the test center on test day (other than accents or apostrophes).
If you have a multiple-part first/given or last/family name, enter it exactly as it appears on the ID you will bring to the test center, excluding accents and apostrophes. For example, if your first/given name is Jean Louis, enter both names in the First/Given Name(s) field. Be sure to enter your names so they appear in the same order as they do on your ID document.
If you do not have a first/given name or do not have a last/family name, enter your name in the Last/Family Name field and leave the other field blank. This is because the Last/Family Name field is mandatory and the First/Given name field is not.
If your ID shows a middle name, you must enter it in the Middle Name field so the name on your registration matches exactly to the name on your ID. If your ID does not show your middle name, or you don’t have a middle name, leave the Middle Name field blank.
Test takers are responsible for bringing valid and acceptable ID each time they report to a test center. It is your responsibility to ensure that your ID documents are up-to-date and available on the day of the test.
If you do not bring valid and acceptable ID, or if the name on your ID does not exactly match the name on your registration, you will not be permitted to test and your test fee will not be refunded.
Pay with a credit/debit card: American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard or VISA. You can also use a PayPal account, or an electronic check (e-check) if you have a bank account in the United States or its territories. Payment methods are subject to change without notice.
Note: Registration closes 7 days before your test date. Late registration closes 4 days before your test date and has a late fee of US$40.
